about

Ross-1

I have always loved art. I started painting as a young child under the guidance of my grandmother. Since she passed, I have been pushing myself to create new photographs better than my previous photographs. Once I found photography, I felt a fulfillment similar to painting. Instead of waiting for a painting to be finished, the shutter rush was immediate. At that point, I realized what I was put on this earth for. My camera is my key to the world, my tool that helps me meet new people. A wise person once told me “Photography isn’t about making pictures, it’s about making relationships.” I didn’t quite understand what he meant until I started photographing people. He helped me realize that building relationships with my subjects wouldn’t just get a great photo, but would also create a new relationship .

Attending Brooks Institute has changed the way I look at the world.
